PROsumer.NET Final Event - major European Conumer Goods Innovation Showcase, 27-28 May 2013, Brussels - Registration is open

After 2 years of expert networking, surveying and roadmapping the PROsumer.NET project, supporting the European Consumer Goods Research Initiative, will showcase its final results at a large-scale public conference on 27-28 May in Brussels.

Download here the detailed event programme. Participation in the conference and all side events is free of charge, apart from a small administration fee.

To register download, complete and return the registration form. When registering before 1st May the reduced admin fee of 50,- € applies. Places are available on a first come, first served basis - register early to make sure you will be part of this event.

You can book hotel accommodation at the conference hotel (Stanhope booking form) or at another hotel 2 min walk from the venue (Leopold booking form).

Save the date - 1st European Textile Flagships Conference, 23-25 October 2013, Brussels

This event will showcase the progress that the 7 European Textile Flagship initiatives will have made after their first year of work. Each flagship will be covered by a full day conference session covering (1) objectives and results of the flagship, (2) major EU initiatives and funding programmes linked to this flagship, (3) major innovation and end market trends in each area and (4) some key technology developments incl. results of EU projects.

By that time, HORIZON 2020 the new EU research and innovation funding programme is expected to be fully adopted and ready to launch its first funding calls, which will be featured at the conference.

In additional there will be scope for extensive networking and possibly some technology brokerage. EU projects will have a possibility to disseminate their results through presentations and information stands.

Textile ETP founded as independent legal entity

In early March 2013 the European Technology Platform for the Future of Textiles and Clothing has been established as an international non-profit organisation under Belgian law (a.i.s.b.l.).

The association has 3 founder members:

- Euratex, the European Apparel and Textile Confederation

- Textranet, the European Network of Textile Research and Technology Organisations

- Autex, the Association of Universities for Textiles

The organisation will have its offices in Brussels at the Euratex premises. After holding its constituting General Assembly, the new organisation is expected to start operations in April 2013. The overall objectives and activities of the platform will remain unchanged, but new membership opportunities will be introduced tailored to the specific interests of companies/organisations in the European networking and information services that the Textile ETP provides.

Successful 8th Annual Public Conference, 20-21 March 2013, Brussels

This year's conference’s entitled “Charting the Future of Textile Research and Innovation in Europe” presented results of recent French and German foresight studies on the future of the textile innovation in Europe and global growth markets for the next 10-20 years, the latest status of preparation of the EU’s HORIZON 2020 Programme and the progress of the 7 pilot Textile Flagships for Europe.

During the conference's closing session, Euratex, Textranet and Autex, the 3 founder members of the new European Technology Platform association Textile ETP a.i.s.b.l. expressed their objectives and commitment for this new entity. The new membership opportunities and services where explained in detail. The European Commission stressed their commitment to working closely with the European Technology Platforms in the coming years to align the priorities and funding opportunities of HORIZON 2020 with the needs of Europe's industrial research and innovation communities.

Conference: Innovation for Textile Resource Efficiency, 22 Nov. 2012, Brussels

On 22 November 2012 Euratex and the European Textile Technology Platform organised in Brussels a high-level conference on innovation for greater resource efficiency (energy, water & materials) in the European textile and clothing industry.

The event provided stakeholders with a picture on industry challenges for greater resource efficiency and how they can be linked to on-going/up-coming research and innovation policy initiatives and funding programmes of the European Commission in these areas.

Launch of the 3rd call of the European Textile Technology Marketplace ETTMa

After good results of the first two calls in Oct. 2011 and April 2012, the European Textile Technology Platform is today launching the 3rd call of the European Textile Technology Marketplace (ETTMa). This service should help to more easily, quickly and cost-effectively connect European companies which look for innovative textile technologies with researchers from across Europe which look for industrial evaluation and exploitation of their research results and technology prototypes. The ETTMa service works as an Open Innovation platform with a process similar to the TEPPIES system. The ETTMa service is free of charge and is available to all textile & clothing companies and related research and technology providers based in Europe.

The deadline for submitting technology searches or technology offers is Friday 7 December 2012.

Crosstexnet launched its fourth call for proposals

The CrossTexNet ERA-Net project for supporting applied textile research through joint national/regional funding has just published its 4th call for proposals. Regional and national funding agencies from Belgium, France, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Germany, Italy and Turkey, participate in this call allowing companies and research organisation from the respective countries/regions to apply for funding. Submission deadline for project proposals is 4 January 2013. For more information and access to all relevant call documents please visit www.crosstexnet.eu.

Textile Platform organises 2 FP7 project brokerage events on 17/9 and 27/9 2012 in Brussels

Present your project ideas - find project partners - obtain recommendations from EC officials

On 17 Sept. 2012 the European Textile Technology Platform & the PROsumer.NET project organise a project brokerage event in Brussels for the textile & consumer goods related FP7 workprogramme topics of the 2013 calls published in July.

On 27 Sept. 2012 a 2nd project brokerage event will be held for call topics related to material and process technology topics as well as technical and protective applications.
