CENTEXBEL: New H2020 project launched on finding economically profitable solutions for bulky urban waste 

H2020 project URBANREC will apply innovations on logistics and waste treatment to facilitate bulky waste recovery by means of innovative solutions on mechanical and chemical recycling for the production of high-added value recycled articles, such as foams, fibre/felt-reinforced composites and plastics (e.g. Wood Plastic Compounds). Centexbel is one of the 21 partners in this project, including also the Belgian companies Procotex and Vanheede Evironment group.

The ultimate goal is to achieve over 80 % recovery of bulky waste across Europe with an economic net profit of more than € 200 per ton, representing in total more than € 2 billion per year. For more information:
