ITM was awarded the German Resource Efficiency Price 2016

The Institute for Textile Machinery and High Performance Material Technology (ITM) was awarded with the German Resource Efficiency Award 2016 on February 16, 2017 with the project “Resource-efficient reuse of recycled carbon fibers by developing a technology for the industrial production of hybrid yarns for use in high-strength CFRP components".
The high-performance rCF hybrid yarns offer almost the same tensile strengths of primary carbon fibers in composite. With these unique technologies, an industrial scale mass production of highly load-bearing complex CFRP components in reproducible quality with very low cycle times is possible, e.g. for electro mobility.
