DITF-MR: From design to customized, on demand production: DITF present the ‘MICROFACTORY’ at MUNICH FABRIC START live 

Creativity meets digital technologies – find out how to answer market demands for customized products and on demand production. The live showcase of the MICROFACTORY allows visitors to experience a fully networked, integrated and seamless production chain, from 3D design to digital printing, cutting and assembling.

On behalf of the MUNICH FABRIC START, the DITF (German Institutes of Textile and Fiber Research) present the MICROFACTORY set-up in cooperation with well-known partners from industry. IWTO: Wool for Future Markets theme of 2018 IWTO Congress, 14-16 May 2018 

Making up 40% of the world’s population, the first generation of the 21st century is starting to come of age.
Known as Generation Z, members of this demographic are environmentally aware, socially tolerant and globally connected. They believe current systems are broken and they will not be held responsible for further destruction.
Naturally grown by sheep and a valuable recyclate, wool offers many solutions to Generation Z’s concerns.
The International Wool Textile Organisation will dig deeper into Generation Z when it examines Wool for Future Markets at the next IWTO Congress, taking place 14-16 May 2018 in Hong Kong. Visit for more details.


CENTROCOT: ENTeR - Expert Network on Textile Recycling 

In July Centrocot SpA, as Lead Partner, hosted the Kick Off meeting of the ENTeR project, co-funded by Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE with  aims to create sustainable linkage among innovation actors and to develop new solutions for finding new green markets for scraps/waste and alternative solutions to raw materials.

The Partners will implement an effective interregional networking on textile industrial waste, based on an innovative on-line tool (material match making platform), for cataloguing, use and exploitation of industrial textile scraps and waste.

The project will contribute to strengthen the innovation capacity of the textile companies and to foster a closer cooperation on waste management and circular economy.


IVGT supports DNFI Innovation in Natural Fibres Award 2017  

First international award for researchers and producers of natural fibre textile products.

Since 2010 IVGT is a full member of - The Discover Natural Fibre Initiative, an organisation to advance the interests of all natural fibre industries and to encourage increased use of natural fibres in the world economy.
The 2017 award will be judged in three categories:

  • Innovative products/components or applications
  • Innovative processes/procedures
  • Innovative research and science

The closing date for applications is 28. July 2017. Short-listed competitors will be notifies by 1. September prior to a worldwide voting which will be conducted before October 2017.
