Textile EPR Masterclass: Building the Knowledge and Technologies for Enabling Textile EPR

Today marks the launch of the Textile EPR Masterclass, a seven-session live webinar programme developed by Textile ETP in collaboration with OHANA Public Affairs, a Brussels-based consultancy, and Refashion, France’s national textile EPR organisation with extensive expertise in collection, sorting, and EPR system operations. Together, these partners bring complementary practical knowledge essential for supporting the industry in preparing for the roll-out of national textile Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes across the 27 EU Member States.

The Masterclass is a six-month programme running from January to June 2026, available either as a stand-alone, one-time subscription or as part of our established Circular Biobased Textiles Innovation Hub, where full access to the Masterclass module is already included. Subscriptions are now open, you can register at the link below.

Created to respond to the industry’s need for practical guidance and clarity, the Masterclass offers a structured sequence of expert-led sessions combining presentations with in-depth Q&A. Participants will gain a practical understanding of the underlying concepts, processes, and technologies that enable textile EPR. The programme begins with the EU legal basis for EPR systems and the role of Producer Responsibility Organisations, then systematically explores textile end-of-life processes: waste generation and collection in Europe, sorting, repair, reuse, and textile-to-textile recycling. It concludes with an outlook on ecodesign and circular business strategies. While the programme shares the latest research and technology state-of-the-art, it is not a forum for interaction with regulators nor a place to track the ongoing implementation of national EPR schemes across EU Member States.

Participants will receive full access to all sessions, including live expert presentations, interactive discussions, Q&A, and downloadable materials. Organisations or individuals subscribing to the full Circular Biobased Textiles Innovation Hub will also benefit from additional Hub webinars and member features. Read more about it on the Circular and Biobased Innovation Hub page.
