Textile ETP at the second Textiles Recycling Expo
On 24-25 June 2026, Textile ETP participated in the second edition of the Textiles Recycling Expo in Brussels, Belgium. The exhibition focused specifically on solving the pressing issue of textile waste, covering the recycling of fabrics, clothing, footwear, fibres, and non-wovens, and drew a large international audience from across the supply chain, including recyclers, waste managers, textile manufacturers, clothing suppliers, retailers, and other stakeholders.
Our Secretary General, Lutz Walter, took part in a panel discussion on The true cost of textiles: waste, responsibility, and Europe's future, joining Luca Campadello from Erion Textiles, Christian-Yves Crépet from PETCORE EUROPE, Vincenzo Gente from the European Commission's Directorate-General for Environment, and Diane Woods from ReJu in a session moderated by Adam Mansell from UKFT. The discussion brought together perspectives from industry, policy, and innovation to address some of the most pressing questions facing the sector: where responsibility lies, how waste is accounted for, and what a credible path forward for European textiles actually looks like.
Meanwhile, the Textile ETP team explored the expo floor, engaging with exhibitors showcasing the latest recycling technologies, connecting with ETP members and the ECOSYSTEX Community, and meeting with partners from EU-funded projects including CISUTAC, PESCO-UP, and SOLSTICE.
What a great second edition it has been, and we are already looking forward to the third, scheduled for 16-17 June 2027.
