Textile ETP discusses EPR at RegioGreenTex workshop in Belgium

On 22 October 2025, Textile ETP Secretary General Lutz Walter took part in the RegioGreenTex workshop “Circular Collaboration in Action – Regions Uniting for a Sustainable Textile Value Chain”, moderating a panel discussion dedicated to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR).

The session brought together experts from Stichting UPV Textiel, Retexbel, Refashion, and OVAM, who shared insights into the implementation of EPR schemes for textiles in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. The panel highlighted national approaches, lessons learned, and ongoing challenges, while also discussing opportunities for harmonisation and cross-border cooperation in advancing circular textile systems.

Organised within the framework of the Lowlands GreenTex Hub under the RegioGreenTex project, the workshop showcased concrete results achieved by regional partners across Hauts-de-France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. The event also marked an important step in the dialogue on the next phase of Europe’s circular textile transition, reinforcing the crucial role of regional collaboration in building a sustainable textile value chain.
