Textile ETP contributes to TexirC Seminar on Sustainability and Circularity

On 15 October 2025, our Sustainability Programmes Officer, Tilla Kross, represented Textile ETP at the TexirC Project seminar day organised by Aalto University in Espoo, Finland.

The event brought together researchers, industry representatives, and innovation stakeholders from across Europe to explore the latest developments in sustainability for the polymer and textile industries. The seminar featured a rich series of talks and panel discussions focused on research and development for synthetic textile recycling, as well as presentations from international experts and TexirC industrial partners who shared their ongoing work in sustainable materials and processes.

During her presentation, Tilla Kross introduced Textile ETP’s ongoing initiatives that drive sustainability and circularity within the European textile ecosystem:

  • She highlighted the Circular & Biobased Textiles Innovation Hub, a collaborative platform designed to connect stakeholders across the value chain, from fibre producers to brands, and accelerate innovation for circular solutions.

  • Tilla also outlined EU funding opportunities that support textile circularity, offering valuable insights into how organisations can engage with European programmes to scale up sustainable technologies and business models.

  • Another focus of her presentation was the ECOSYSTEX community, a network initiated by Textile ETP to unite EU-funded textile circularity projects, heloing them share knowledge, align objectives, and collaborate on cross-cutting challenges to maximise impact and foster a truly circular European textile ecosystem.

Her contribution emphasised the importance of collaboration and knowledge exchange as essential enablers of sustainable transformation, highlighting the need for stronger links between research, innovation, and industry implementation, a theme central to both TexirC and Textile ETP’s missions.
