ITMA 2023 has shown great enthusiasm, with a week-long celebration of technological innovations and revolutionary breakthroughs in the textile industry. The Textile ETP team was ready connect with individuals eager to explore our dedication to promoting textile research and innovation throughout Europe. We were thrilled to share our vision and showcase how we contribute to the advancement of the textile industry.

We are delighted to inform you that Textile ETP will participate in, and organise many activities at ITMA 2023, the world's largest international textile and garment technology exhibition, in Milan, Italy, on 8-14 June 2023.

The 17th ETP's Annual European Textile Conference and General Assembly and CITEVE's iTechStyle Summit took place on 10 to 12 May in Porto, Portugal. The event brought together industry leaders, experts, and academia to explore the latest trends, strategies, opportunities, and challenges in the textile sector.

Textile ETP, the leading European Technology Platform for the textile and clothing industry, is delighted to announce the election of Dr. Marina Crnoja-Cosic as the new President. The vote took place at the General Assembly held on 10 May 2023 in Porto, Portugal, during the Textile ETP Annual Conference and CITEVE’s iTechStyle Summit.

On 9 May, the Textile ETP team had the opportunity to visit companies in the Guimaraes region in Portugal, also known as the birth of the Portuguese textile industry.

On 26 April 2023, leading experts from the textile and fashion industry gathered at the Vestindien Textile Fashion Center in Borås, Sweden, for a day-long conference on the transition to a circular textile and fashion industry.

On 29 March, Textile ETP Secretary General Lutz Walter spent the day in Paris, France, to discuss the future of textiles with various industry stakeholders.

Our channel is dedicated to showcasing the incredible work of our members, who are some of the most innovative and forward-thinking organizations in the textile industry. Additionally, we are proud to present the EU projects we are involved in, and that are helping shape the future of the industry.

On 23 March, Textile ETP's Secretary General Lutz Walter, and SmartX Community Technical Director Daniel Zavec spoke at CONTEXT's final event in Prato and Florence, Italy.

On 1-2 March, members of the SmartX Community had the chance to catch up and collaborate at LOPEC in Munich, Germany.

With 17 R&I EU-funded member projects focusing on textile sustainability, ECOSYSTEX– European Community of Practice for a Sustainable Textile Ecosystem has been formally launched in early 2023, with a mission to accelerate collaboration in the textile sustainability and circularity field.
