Textile ETP published the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) for the "Textiles of the Future" European Partnership. The Partnership, officially announced by the European Commission in March 2024, is set to launch by the end of this year. It aims to support the textile sector, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in implementing a comprehensive research and innovation program.

On 4 June 2024, the Textile ETP Secretary General Lutz Walter participated in the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship & SMEs (DG GROW) stakeholder event for the Textiles Ecosystem Transition Pathway.

On Thursday 23 May 2024, Textile ETP Secretary General Lutz Walter took the stage at the Global Fashion Agenda's Global Fashion Summit in Copenhagen, Denmark, participating in the 'Decarbonisation Data: Fashion’s Emissions' panel.

On 20-22 May, Textile ETP Secretary General Lutz Walter and Project Manager Judith Bosch attended CITEVE's iTechStyle Summit in Porto, Portugal. Lutz Walter presented a strategic vision for addressing sustainability challenges, while Bosch moderated a panel on textile performance in the automotive and mobility sector

The 18th Textile ETP Annual Conference in Mechelen brought together industry leaders, experts, and innovators for two dynamic days of discussions and insights, focusing on sustainability, innovation, fundings, and the future of the textile sector.

As exhibitors at Techtextil for the second time, the Textile ETP team organized 6 guided tours from Tuesday to Thursday. Three tours were dedicated to the SmartX Innovation Hub, two to the Circular & Biobased Textiles Innovation Hub and one for ECOSYSTEX & ETP Members.

On 10-11 April, Textile ETP Secretary General Lutz Walter travelled travelled to Catalonia, Spain, where he delved deep into the heart of textile innovation and industry advancement.

On 21 March 2024, Textile ETP participated in the New Cotton Project and Telavalue's one-day seminar in Finland together with textile industry stakeholders to share findings and exchange ideas on driving circular initiatives in the sector as the projects come to a close. New Cotton Project and Telavalue are both projects developed and pilot-tested innovative technologies and business models for textile circularity, with special focus on cellulose-based textile waste.

These partnerships will be at the core of the Horizon Europe Strategic Plan 2025-2027, addressing the green and digital transition, and a more resilient, competitive, inclusive and democratic Europe.
